Artur Mas, leader of the Catalan political - and main opposition - party Convergència i Unió (CiU) has today visited SEAT’s facilities at Martorell so as to get ‘hot-off-the-press’ information concerning the latest investments in the car manufacturer’s pipeline projects as well as its importance for Catalan industry. Artur Mas was accompanied by fellow party members of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, the Parliament of Catalonia and the European Parliament.

The group of Catalan MPs were met at SEAT’s corporate headquarters by James Muir, the company’s President, who addressed a few words of welcome to them. Later the group visited the bodywork workshop facility, one of the most technological advanced and highly robotized of its kind.

A visit was later made to the SEAT Technical Center, a facility that provides SEAT with a unique position among all Spain-based car manufacturers, making it the only brand with the capacity to design, develop and manufacture its own vehicles. Here the visitors were provided with detailed information concerning the unique features of the facility, where some 2,000 highly-qualified SEAT engineers and specialists work.

The group then had a private meeting with the SEAT Chairman James Muir, who briefed them about the new models being developed by the brand as well as SEAT’s strategy for the near future.
