HE WILL BE WTCC DRIVER IN OPORTO Diego Puyo, main figure of the weekend at the SEAT León Eurocup
Both races held this weekend in Brno were hard fought and the race yesterday had even a surprising result. Frenchman Michael Rossi achieved his first victory against all forecasts, after Hungarian driver Norbert Mischelisz, who had been dominating the race from the start had a puncture with one lap to go and lost the victory he already had in his pocket. Rossi took over the victory, followed by a very aggressive group made up by Pedalà , Barth, Matejovsky and Puyo who finished the race which was held unexpectedly in dry conditions, in this order. The second race, held today, was interrupted due to an accident in the first lap. It was a multiple collision that made the intervention of the medical services necessary in order to get Italian driver Aldo Ponti out of his car. An ambulance took the driver to the circuit’s medical centre but no serious injury was found. Diego Puyo had been the fastest after a great start and once the safety car left the track, he continued in the lead and opened a gap, joined by Jean Marie Claret. Barth and Matejovski tried to follow, but it was finally Mischelisz, who had an excellent performance yesterday, who managed to make up positions and finish second, ahead of Clairet. The three of them stepped on the second podium of the weekend. Classifications |
